I'm Francisco Ari, often called Fransi or Ari. I'm born, raised and based in Reykjavík. I did my M.Sc. in human geography with a specialization in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) at Umeå University, Sweden. I'm enthusiastic about mapping and analyzing geographic data to better understand patterns and relationships in the world around us. I'm currently employed as a project manager at Qair Ísland, a renewable energy company developing wind farms in Iceland.

During my Master's programme I discovered a new hobby: making shaded relief maps. This has developed into the webshop Ari Maps where I offer prints on demand of both historical and original shaded relief maps.
